Jack Colback and Ayoze Perez currently represent the sum total of Newcastle's feeble foray into the summer transfer market with agitated Toon supporters desperate for the Club to up the recruitment ante before we host champions Manchester City in our Premier League curtain raiser. There are just 58 days left before an illustrious City side - likely to be boosted by a couple of heavyweight additions in the coming months- descend upon Tyneside on 16th August to provide the first test in what is gearing up to be another punishing campaign for everyone in black and white. In it's current state we have a squad requiring major reconstructive surgery and if you take what the rumour mill spins as gospel then we can expect up to five new signings to pass through the entrance at St James' Park before we host Manuel Pellegrini's men. Although it may come across as wishful thinking we've suggested the 10 Players that Alan Pardew MUST sign before Man City come to town.
10. Alexandre Lacazette
Current Club: Lyon Position: Striker Although we don't hold out much hope of actually seeing Lacazette in a black and white shirt next season he's exactly the type striker Pardew should be looking to build his Newcastle side around. 23 goals in 46 games for Lyon last term pays testament to that notion. The 23-year-old is considered one of the most talented young assassins in Europe and it would take upwards of £10 million for the Magpies to obtain his services but, in our humble opinion, he would be more than worth the outlay given our current striking options are comprised of just one senior forward in the form of an injured Papiss Cisse. Loic Remy's departure has created a colossal void that Pardew needs to fill with at least two strikers of recognisable quality and Lacazette would provide the cutting edge we no longer possess after Remy opted not to stay for another term on Tyneside.
