Lets round things off now with Alexandre Lacazette who is my number one choice to replace Yohan Cabaye. Some people may find this to be a slightly odd statement since the French international isnt exactly an orthodox central midfielder. However, its important to forget about that for a while and instead focus on attacking qualities that the Magpies lost with Cabaye. Essentially what they lose was his attacking ability and in particular his goal threat. This is why Lacazette would be such a brilliant replacement. The 22-year-old has scored an impressive 13 goals from 25 starts this season and even if he wouldnt be the right replacement for Cabaye; he certainly would be for Loic Remy when his loan finishes. The great thing about Lacazette is his ability to play in a number of different positions. This season he has played most often as a forward, but has the ability to fulfil an attacking midfield role as well. Some stats on him this season include 2.4 shots, 1.3 key passes, 1.6 dribbles per match as well as an average rating of 7.35. However, he is another player that Newcastle would have to part with a large chunk of change to secure.
