It would not be surprising if this summer every club in Europe had been faxed by Malaga CF with the memo Everything Must Go. Well if newspaper are rumours are to be believed it certainly seems to be the case, as Newcastle, according to the Daily Mirror, have added their name to the list of clubs interested in signing French international midfielder Jeremy Toulalan this summer. The football equivalent to a high street sale, the Spanish side are desperate to flock their stock, not least because of the crippling financial debts the club finds itself in following the lavish spending of the Dubai based owners who took control of the club in 2010. One of those players is Toulalan, with the Magpies keen on snapping up a player who has won 36 caps for Les Bleus, and with the midfielder being available at a cut down price; Alan Pardew may eye Toulalan as a quality addition to add strength in depth to his squad ahead of the new campaign. Last summer Newcastles prudent transfer policy saw them sign Demba Ba for free, and Yohan Cabaye for only £4 million, and if they can snare Toulalan for a fraction of the £8 million it took for him to move to Malaga last summer, it would certainly be seen as an astute and intelligent piece of business by the North East club. However Newcastle arent the only ones eyeing up the two times Ligue 1 winner, with former club Lyon also considering a move to bring him back to the Stade de Gerland on the cheap. However with the French club unwilling to offer Champions League football for the first time in 12 years, and with Malaga unlikely to want to sell back to the club only 12 months earlier they were buying from, Newcastle can be optimistic that their current crop of French talent will be enough to persuade Toulalan to turn out for the Magpies in the coming campaign. Meanwhile for Malaga the vultures continue to swarm with many of their first team stars who helped the club achieve Champions League qualification for the first time in the clubs history last season, expected to leave the Estadio La Rosaleda. Striker Salomon Rondon has been heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur; Santi Carzola has all but signed for Arsenal and over the past few days Manchester United have appeared as a potential destination for Spain under 21 midfielder Isco. The exodus isnt going to stop their either with Naxto Monreal and Joaquin also expected to leave.
