NFL Draft: Top 10 Steals

By Sonny Bryan /

3. DE/OLB Alex Okafor, Arizona Cardinals

Round 4, Pick 103Alex Okafor was one of many that fell further than expected. He had a productive career at Texas and had a strong Senior Bowl. While evaluating Okafor, I can tell he is a competitor. At the Senior Bowl he wanted to go up against the best offensive tackle every time and that was the first overall pick Eric Fisher. Fisher did a great job against him, but you can tell Okafor wasn't going down without a fight. Okafor shows great burst off the line and posses strong power which leads to a dominating bull rush. The one thing Fisher was having a hard time handling was Okafor's bull rush. If Okafor can work on his finesse moves then he can be a dominating pass rusher at the next level. It's also interesting to see a 3-4 team like the Cardinals take him. Many scouts seen him as a base 4-3 defensive end which may make him have a hard time adjusting to pass coverage, if the Cardinals ask him to do that. If he's asked to strictly rush the passer then Okafor will have a very productive career with the Cardinals.
