The departure of Jonas Gutierrez to Norwich City signals the end of the Argentinian's long spell at St. James Park, where he became an undoubted fan favourite. Gutierrez arrived at Newcastle back in 2008 from Mallorca and has since made over 170 league appearances for the Magpies. His scoring record wasn't the best but his goals were always ones to remember and his overall contribution on the field of play was fantastic. At the weekend he took to Twitter to announce that he would be leaving the club and joined Norwich on-loan some days later, once again linking up with manager Chris Hughton- who he achieved promotion to the Premier League with while they were both at Newcastle. Jonas had fallen out of the pecking order at Newcastle, making just two appearances this season. He said:
"I'm happy to be here. It's an opportunity for me to get back in the game and try and do my best for the team."
