Premier League: 10 Best Transfers of 2012

By Rion Barker /

2. Santi Cazorla (Arsenal, £16 million)

Despite Arsenal's two opening games ending in what some might perceive as a dismal 0-0, one man has already begun to stand head and shoulders above the rest. While some bemoaned his lack of pace before he had even pulled on the Gunners jersey, his passing, creativity and vision have silenced his critics, and has confirmed him as one of their main focal points in turning defence into attack. He's also managed to score 2 goals, as well as his 2 assists, in 7 appearances this season, hinting at an eye for goal as well as a pass. His performances so far have already led some to hail him as the 'new Fabregas,' although it is almost certainly too early to award him, or burden him, with that title. It's not out of the question though to suggest he could become that influential a player if he continues as he started. Rating: 9/10 Already a main threat.
