There's no historical reason for Bournemouth's sky-blue away strip, besides the town being situated beneath it. Suppose the ocean blue shorts create a pastiche of the seafront, though there really should be a happy yellow sun on the shirt to complete the effect.

The kit succeeds in being practical; it's completely different from the home scheme, meaning the Cherries don't 'require' a third strip through poor planning. But it's also featureless and sports a dodgy recoloured badge. Inoffensive.
