Irish international striker Kevin Doyle has completed a loan move to QPR, bolstering the Hoops' campaign for the Championship title and promotion back to the Premier League. The 30-year-old former Reading and Cork City striker has had a woeful year in League One, netting a mere 3 times in England's third tier, but the former Premier League hitman has now joined Harry Redknapp's newest "Barmy Army" at Queens Park Rangers. Doyle was a true star at Reading, netting 65 goals in a 4-year stint at the club, including 18 goals per year in his 2 years in the Championship and an impressive 13 strikes in their 2006-07 Premier League campaign. However, he's failed to hit the heights since his move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, and the last 2 years have seen him suffer successive relegations from the Premier League and the Championship. Redknapp had been quoted earlier in the day as being fairly confident a deal will be done in time;

The return to the Championship will be a welcome boost for both the player and his international management duo of Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane with an international against Serbia next on the line for the Republic of Ireland in March, both men will welcome the news that their player is featuring at a higher level.
