Peter Reid is Sunderland's greatest Premier League manager, and despite the disappointing end, the two 7th place finishes with Kevin Phillips and Niall Quinn at the helm are regarded as the golden days, with superb attacking football and the ability to tear teams apart with ease. On the field, he was equally highly regarded, first acquiring the Second Division title with Bolton, before moving to Everton where he became a legend. He won two First Division titles, an FA Cup, a pair of Charity Shields and the European Cup Winners' Cup before later being inducted to Everton's all-time greatest XI.
