Recent tax fraud allegations have apparently unsettled Cristiano Ronaldo, leaving the 32-year-old keen to leave Spain and Real Madrid.

Though only a year into a contract lasting until 2021, a source close to the club's all-time top goalscorer stated that "He feels he's honest, has good character and did everything OK, so he doesn't understand".

Clubs the world over will be keeping a close eye on the situation, not least in China where offers of around £250million were offered for Ronaldo's services as recent as last December. Paris Saint-Germain have chased the player for years, and were thought to be favourites to land him last season before he signed his new deal.

Those at the club are allegedly working frantically to convince him to reconsider, but this would not be the first time since his Champions League heroics that rumours have circulated of his desire to leave the Bernebeu.

As with Paul Pogba last season, Manchester United may be willing to break the bank and transfer records in order to land prolific goalscorer's signature as a statement of intent for the 2017/18 Premier League campaign.
