The 125th season of the Football League kicks off tonight when the oldest ground in the country plays host to the oldest team in the country as Sheffield United take on Notts County at Bramall Lane. League One is perhaps the most difficult league to predict as the success of Gary Johnsons Yeovil in last years play off final proved. With big teams like Wolves falling from grace into the division this year and big teams like Bradford rising up from League Two in confident style the division looks set to be tougher than it has ever been this time around. With that in mind Ive decided to take a look at each team in the division and take the rather brave/stupid decision to attempt to predict some sort of order for the coming campaign. Note: I would like to thank all fans who helped me compile information on their teams...
Bradford City
Manager: Phil Parkinson Key Player: Nakhi Wells Predicted Finish: 8th Bradfords return to the third tier had been a long time coming and last seasons play off success was a huge relief for The Valley Parade faithful. Bradford earned promotion in style with a thumping 3-0 victory over Northampton Town at Wembley. Fans will be expecting more of the same this season and why not? The team showed just how capable they are with their unforgettable cup run last season which saw them lose out in the final to Swansea. Nakhi Wells and James Hanson proved to be a formidable strike force last season in League Two and its difficult to imagine them not having a similar season in League One. Expect a play off push from the Bantams at the very least.
