Spurs New Manager: Glen Hoddle Backs Mauricio Pochettino
public shaming of Spurs' players after their emphatic Premier League loss against Chelsea and the impact of the influx of players who were brought in to the club last summer following the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid. Hoddle himself has said that he came close to retaking the reins at White Hart Lane following Andre Villas-Boas' dismissal in December of last year, but he has now taken to giving his support to Pochettino in spite of other potential candidates that are said to include Frank de Boer and Rafa Benitez. Speaking to talkSPORT, Hoddle had this to say about the situation:
Tottenham Hotspur legend Glenn Hoddle has given Southampton's Argentinian boss Mauricio Pochettino his backing to potentially replace Tim Sherwood as manager at White Hart Lane. The former England and Spurs boss made 377 league appearances for the Lilywhites and enjoys legendary status at White Hart Lane, but he has recently been critical of affairs at the club, including Sherwood's I think Pochettino is a super young manager. He has done a brilliant job at Southampton and I think he would be a very good acquisition for Tottenham. I've been very impressed with the way hes had Southampton playing this year and I think, with the squad at Tottenham, I think he could do real wonders there.High praise indeed from a man whose own playing style was a joy to behold, but will Spurs' Chairman Daniel Levy take notice of Hoddle's views on the matter? Do you agree with Hoddle's opinions of Pochettino? Who do you think should be appointed as the new manager at White Hart Lane? Share your thoughts in the comments area below.
