Spurs Transfer News: AVB Eyeing Hulk Loan For £10m

By Simon Gallagher /

Metro, Spurs are considering a loan deal for Zenit St Petersburg's Brazilian striker Hulk, in a bid to add more firepower before the transfer window closes officially at 11pm tonight. AVB is said to be a big admirer of the striker, who used to play for Porto before his big money move to Russia, and could move to link him up with new signing Roberto Soldado. A sticking point may be that the Portuguese manager wants a temporary move for the striker, rather than a permanent one, and that his current club somewhat unthinkably want a massive £10million loan fee to sanction the deal. Even with the fee brought in for Gareth Bale, that sort of money for a temporary deal is just obscene, even for a player of Hulk's caliber, and there's little chance any Premier League would happily pay that much without assurances of a lower fee for a permanent deal at the end of the loan. Hulk is said to be interested in the move, according to Metro, and his pace and power would suit Spurs, while his ability to play anywhere in the final third - a bonus to his national team - is clearly also a bonus for any side looking to play a 4-2-3-1 formation. Spurs have already splashed more than £109m on seven players, including Roberto Soldado, Paulinho, Christian Eriksen, Vlad Chiriches, Nacer Chadli, Etienne Capoue and Erik Lamela. Would Hulk be another good addition?
