Spurs Transfer News: Sandro Joins QPR

Brazilian crowd favourite joins former boss Harry Redknapp at Loftus Road.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed (via the club's official Twitter account) the sale of Brazil international midfielder Sandro to Queens Park Rangers on a three-year contract. Rangers are said to have paid around £10 million for his services and the move sees Sandro reuniting with his former White Hart Lane boss Harry Redknapp. Sandro had fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane - mostly due to his playing style not suiting Mauricio Pochettino's fast passing philosophy - and he would have found game time even harder to come by following the signing of Benjamin Stambouli earlier on deadline day. The midfielder had built a great rapport with the Spurs fans in his four years at the club, thanks largely to both his tenacious attitude on the pitch and his fun personality off it. He left a message on his Facebook page regarding his thoughts on the move:
I'm delighted to have joined QPR FC and look forward to working with Harry Redknapp again. I'd like to thank Tottenham Hotspur for everything they've done for me. Spurs has been my home since I moved to England and I loved every minute of my time there. To the fans; I'll always have a special relationship with you and can't begin to express how much your support has meant to me, particularly in tough times when I was injured. I can't wait to get started at QPR now and look forward to wearing the famous hoops for the first time #COYRS
He has 17 caps for Brazil and has scored one international goal. What do you think about Sandro leaving Spurs to join QPR? Bad move for Spurs? Great move for QPR? Good move for Sandro himself? Share your thoughts in the comments section below. And please feel free to follow me on Twitter!
