Spurs Transfer News: Tottenham Lining Up £30 Million Hulk Bid

By Joseph Dempsey /

Mirror. The London club are resigned to losing Bale in a world-transfer-record-breaking move to Real Madrid and manager Andre Villas-Boas is hoping to land the powerful 27-year-old to keep the goals flowing. Villas-Boas refused to confirm his interest in Hulk when interviewed following Spurs's 1-0 win over Swansea City yesterday. But he is still hurting after losing out on Willian to London rivals Chelsea, despite the winger having undergone a medical at White Hart Lane. And now, the Portuguese coach wants to land another Brazilian instead, and has set his sights on Hulk. Villas-Boas also wants to tie up a deal for Roma's Erik Lamela, with a £26 million deal in place for the striker to join Tottenham this summer. The Lilywhites have also agreed a £7.5 million deal with Steaua Bucharest for Romanian defender Vlad Chiriches, after reviving the bid when it looked to have been on the brink of collapse. Any deal for Hulk would break Tottenham's transfer record for a third time this summer, following the arrivals of Paulinho from Corinthians and Roberto Soldado from Valencia.
