Despite having spent the most money in the Premier League this summer, it seems that Spurs might not yet be finished with their business for this window. The North London club have already spent more than £109 million, and fans could yet see more business done - though not with a fee involved. After seeing Gareth Bale finally move to Real Madrid yesterday, manager Andre Villas-Boas is looking to bring in another player to boost his defensive options. According to SportsDirectNews, Spurs are understood to be looking at the possibility of signing Inter Milan's left-back Alvaro Pereira. AVB has just let Cameroon international Benoit Assou-Ekotto join up with former Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp at QPR on loan for the season, and coached Pereira when the pair were together at Porto. According to that source, the manager will look to take advantage of that link, to try and bring the Uruguay international 27-year-old in. They also say the player would be keen on working with Villas-Boas again, and the loan deal for Assou-Ekotto could well make that a possibility, since Danny Rose is now the only left-footed full-back in the club's first team squad.
