Spurs Transfers: Yedlin To Sign Within 48 Hours

Seattle Sounders right back on the verge of move to White Hart Lane.

After a couple of weeks of rumours about the potential deal, the move to bring Seattle Sounders and United States defender DeAndre Yedlin to White Hart Lane is said to be on the verge of completion. The Daily Star are reporting that, despite rival interest from fellow Premier League side Liverpool and Italian giants Roma, the pacey full back - who impressed when he was on the pitch at the World Cup, handling the likes of Eden Hazard with a level of competency beyond his years and experience - will join Mauricio Pochettino's revolution at Spurs, as Sounders' head coach Sigi Schmid has stated that Yedlin will finalise his move to north London "in the next day or two". Yedlin sat out Sounders' 2-0 victory over Houston Dynamo at the weekend, which Schmid said was for precautionary reasons ahead of the proposed move: "Some things are not entirely completed yet so we did not want to play him and have the risk of injury happening without everything being finalised and completed." It is believed that, should Yedlin complete the move to White Hart Lane, he will immediately be loaned back to the MLS until January, before joining up with his new team-mates and competing with the likes of Kyle Walker for the Spurs right back spot. Sounders, who are currently top of the overall MLS table, also boast former Spurs forward Clint Dempsey amongst their ranks. Will Yedlin be a good signing for Spurs? One for the future?
