Spurs vs Man City - Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups

Match Preview

This could be the game in which Roberto Mancini finally surrenders the Premier League title to Manchester United. If City lose against Tottenham and United go on to beat Aston Villa on Monday, the title race is mathematically over. However, perhaps those party poppers should be put on hold for just a little while longer, because City have an imperious record in this fixture. The Sky Blues haven't lost to any team from the capital city this season and haven't tasted defeat in this fixture for five games. They also find Spurs in a poor run of form, and Andre Villas-Boas' side have only earned four points from as many games recently. A boost though to Tottenham's hopes of victory and therefore maintaining their now-slim hopes of finishing in the top four is the return of Gareth Bale. Spurs have certainly missed their Welsh wizard and haven't been the same team without him. Jermaine Defoe could also play some part while Aaron Lennon's return is an added boost. Spurs will also be further buoyed by the expected absences of the injured Sergio Aguero and David Silva, and will be hoping the same City side that put in such a laboured performance over Wigan midweek will show up at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Predicted Scoreline

Spurs 1 - 2 Man City If Gareth Bale is passed fit, Tottenham stand a great chance, but even with him I still think they will fall to Man City this weekend. The champions have dominated this fixture recently and I can't see Roberto Mancini's side loosening their stranglehold over Tottenham with even the faintest of hopes of retaining their league title still to cling onto.
