Stoke City's New Away Kit Revealed For 2012/13

Stoke City have launched their new away kit for next season, designed specifically with the Potters 150th anniversary in mind. For the 2012/2013 season, Tony Pulis' now firmly established Premier League side will wear navy and cardinal colours, similar to those that were once donned by the Stoke Ramblers following the formation of the club in 1863. This is very similar to the home kit that the Stoke Ramblers used to play in, though back in the 19th century it was hoops rather than stripes. This historic symbol is also being celebrated with the modified club badge which replaces 1863 with "150 years" and carries the motto is Unita Fortior underneath -United Strength Is Stronger. The shirt also has the 1863-2013 dates on the back of the shirt, something that will also feature on the new home shirt for next season which will be launched at a later date. Stoke City's Head of Commercial Andrew Billingham said;

"Our 150th anniversary next season is a momentous landmark in the Club's history and it was important therefore that the new kit reflected the fact we will be celebrating this special occasion. "While our home kit will retain the traditional red and white stripes, the away kit is more of a throwback to those early days of blue and burgundy colours. The creation of the specific 150 years badge and the dateline give it more historical significance. "We are sure that our supporters will like the idea of being able to purchase a special shirt which marks this anniversary in an appropriate manner."

The shirt is available to pre-order now and Stoke City will enter all who purchase it into a prized draw to win the special 150 squad number at the club to mark the anniversary.
