Moussa Sow is reportedly in talks with Sunderland over a move to Wearside according to several sources including French sports paper L'Equipe. The 29-year-old striker is entering the final year of his contract with Turkish giants Fenerbache, and the Black Cats have repeatedly been linked with the Senegalese talisman throughout several transfer windows, though now it appears that talks are actually starting up. Several sources including the Press Association believe the Sunderland have also lodged an £11 million bid in a bold move to snap up Georgino Wijnaldum, winner of the Eredivisie Player of the Year award ahead of Manchester United's new £25 million man, Memphis Depay. Signing both players would send a huge statement of intent out to Sunderland's rivals, though a deal to finally snap up Sow appears to be the most likely as things stand. Fenerbache are keen to sell if they can't break the current contract stalemate, while reports suggesting that the Wearside club are ready to meet Sow's demands. He has bagged 14 goals in 33 this season, taking his Fenerbache total to 51 goals in 102 for the Turkish side, while he notched up an even more impressive 31 goals in 54 games record for Rennes before that. Wijnaldum would also be a major coup for Sunderland, with a large part of the credit belonging to Dick Advocaat and his PSV connections if the deal goes through. However, this is just the beginning of what could be an extended transfer saga. The 24-year-old creative midfielder has also been linked with Newcastle United, though bigger teams could be lurking if and when Sunderland match PSV's valuation.
