Jonathan De Guzman comes with great pedigree, having played for the likes of Swansea, Feyenoord, Napoli and Villarreal at the age of 27. The attacking midfielder has been capped by Holland 14 times, and could bring the spark and creativity that Sunderland are crying out for. According to reports, De Guzman is available, and Premier League rivals Bournemouth have been credited with a strong interest. The player is unlikely to command a fee of more than £5m, which is well within what Sunderland have available in terms of finance. The Dutch international would be linking up with compatriot and recent arrival Jeremain Lens, as well as another Dutchman in manager Dick Advocaat.
