He can offer raw pace, power and excitement - and more importantly - he is proven in the Premier League. His time across the pond with Newcastle United would mean little to Sunderland fans should he replicate his 14 goals in one season on Tyneside. Though the fee would likely be in excess of £10 million, and the Frenchman's wage would make him one of Sunderland's highest earners, he could just be the man to successfully partner Jermain Defoe with his physical ability and clinical finishing.
