The 70th NBA season starts on 27th October, bringing to an end the dark, dull months of the offseason, during which time basketball fans have been forced to survive on scraps from the EuroBasket table or a few dodgy, hard to find streams of WNBA games. The first match-up of the season is the Chicago Bulls vs the Cleveland Cavaliers and if that doesn't give you immediate goosebumps of excitement, then read on. The NBA in 2015-2016 looks set to be as thrilling, heartbreaking and generally bonkers as ever, with certain teams and players providing particular highlights. Rivalries will bubble over and competitive spirits will flare. After all, LeBron doesn't take a finals loss lightly and Westbrook has been fuming about missing the playoffs all summer long. Whoever you support, this will be an insanely exciting year. And if you're thinking of getting into the sport, now is a wonderful time to start. Here are just a few of the thousand things we're looking forward to in the upcoming season.
