Tottenham Transfer News: Emmanuel Adebayor Signs

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that they have completed the permanent signing of striker Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City.

"I'm back!!!! Tottenham here I come!! I'm hungry for goals...Get ready."
He was also quoted as saying on the Tottenham official website;
"I am pleased to be signing for Spurs on a permanent basis after finally agreeing my departure with Manchester City. "It may have taken longer than expected but I am delighted to be back at Tottenham Hotspur. "I really enjoyed my time here last season and I am hoping we can achieve great things together again."
Sources close to Spurs claim that the club have now broke their wage structure to bring in the 28-year-old forward, who it was reported was earning as much as £175,000 a week at City. However it has emerged that the hold-up over the transfer was a dispute between Adebayor and the Barclays Premier League champions over his loyalty bonus pay-off, something he seemingly insisted on despite spending the past 18 months of his three years at City on loan at Real Madrid and Tottenham. Spurs fans will be delighted to welcome Adebayor back to the club after their lack of numbers on Saturday showed when they had no support to Jermaine Defoe in Spurs' 2-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United.
