Tottenham Transfers: Sigurdsson - Spurs Future Bright Under AVB
Icelandic new signing joined as the club are set for big things this season
"'I enjoyed playing under Brendan and I am grateful for everything he has done for me, but after careful consideration I liked Spurs best. The team has world-class players in their ranks and they play good football, which I like. I was impressed with the club's plans for next season and the coming years. "There is clearly great ambition at Tottenham and the club intends to do big things. It is a pleasure to see that Gareth Bale has signed a new contract. There are top players in the team and the club is getting a new training ground."Sigurdsson has also already spoken to his new boss Andre Villas-Boas, and confirmed he is looking forward to working under the Portuguese who was sacked from Chelsea after a disappointing start to his career in England last year:
"I like him and the ideas he has. He has faith in me and I'm looking forward to working under his leadership."The Icelandic midfielder joined Swansea on loan last season from German club Hoffenheim and scored seven goals in 19 appearances for the Welsh side. He now joins Spurs where he is hotly rumoured to be a replacement for want-away play-maker Luka Modric. Spurs fans, what do you think of the signing? Let us know below.
