Transfer Deadline Day: Every Premier League Club's Best Signing Of The Window
5. Southampton - Che Adams
Southampton fans have not had much to cheer about this transfer window. They've only brought in two players, but one of those is Che Adams. He initially made a name for himself at Sheffield United, notably making headlines at the age of 18 for scoring 2 goals in 3 minutes against Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup but has more recently been making his name at Birmingham City.
Adams has been pretty impressive over his 3 seasons in the Championship but only really showed what he was capable of in the 2018/19 campaign, scoring an impressive 22 goals and assisting 4. With creative players like Redmond and Ward-Prowse supporting him, it's quite likely he'll be just as successful in the Premier League.
It may not be easy for Adams however, as there is plenty of competiton for the star striker role. Charlie Austin may have left for West Brom but Danny Ings has seen his loan move become permanent transfer and younger stars like Michael Obafemi will also look to make a name for themselves with the star man gone. This competition should hopefully drive Adams to step up his game and eventually claim the sought after position of number one striker.
