Kicking off the main card predictions is a do or die fight. Mark Hominick has unfortunately been on a three fight losing streak consisting of losses from Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo, contender The Korean Zombie, and new contender Eddie Yagin. Losses to Aldo and Korean Zombie hurt no one. In his split decision loss to Eddie Yagin, Hominick was dropped a few times but came back to nearly win the fight. Pablo Garza has back to back losses to Dustin Poirier and Dennis Bermudez. Again those two are top fighters in their division. But losing three or four fights in a row is usually the end of your UFC run. *cough* Dan Hardy *Cough* I like to joke around with my MMA friends and say "Once Pablo Garza jumps into the air, run back as fast as you can!" This joke started because he had two wins in a row where he flew into the air and won that way. Against Fredson Paixao Garza won by flying knee knockout. Against Yves Jabouin he flew into the air and locked in a triangle. But Hominick is a great counter striker so trying risky moves could be dangerous. Hominick should be the better striker by a decent margin. Garza was getting out struck by Yves before the finish. Poirier was getting the better of him on the feet before he went to the ground. Garza will have the advantage on the ground. Both men aren't wrestlers so there is no advantage there. I believe it will be a stand-up battle. Unfortunately, Hominick has been on a three fight losing streak with two of three losses in Canada. But I think he can beat the curse. Mark Hominick defeats Pablo Garza in a close decision.
