UFC: Top 10 Career Returns

By Jay Anderson /

2. Vitor Belfort

Vitor Belfort has experienced the most unexpected of late career resurgences in the last year or two. While many will attribute his recent success to TRT (testosterone replacement therapy), there's a lot of skill behind some of the kicks and strikes Belfort has managed to display in the cage. Winner of the UFC 12 heavyweight tournament, he would eventually lose to Randy Couture, then win two more fights, one against Wanderlei "The Axe Murderer" Silva before leaving the company in 1998 and heading to Pride. He would return to the UFC a second time in 2002 where he would eventually defeat Randy Couture for the light heavyweight belt in 2004, only to lose it back to Couture in his very next fight. After a loss to Tito Ortiz he would leave the company again, returning for a third time in 2009. Since that time, his only losses are in championship fights, against Anderson Silva and Jon Jones. He is currently expected to face the winner of Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida.
