USPGA Championship 2013: 5 Favourites & 5 Outsiders

By Niall McLoughlin /

The final major championship of the season begins today at Oak Hill, scene of the surprising 2003 victory by unknown Shaun Micheel. With the PGA Championship synonymous with relative outsiders picking up the victory, I will be taking a look at both the favourites for the title and those who despite the long odds, could see themselves a major winner come Sunday. Many players come into the final major with good form to back up their chances and choosing who will be victorious will once again prove tricky. Last year€™s winner Rory McIlroy has been in a dreadful run of form this season and will just be hoping for a solid week to build confidence for the remainder of the year while many favourites will be hoping to add to their major tallies. The Oak Hill golf course will require the winner to be incredibly accurate off the tee as either side provides the player with dense rough which could easily prove costly, especially on Sunday.
