Prediction: 0-1 Arsenal go into this huge game in the midst of their first injury crisis of the new season. On top of the suspended duo of Song and Gervinho, they'll also be without Gibbs, Djourou, Wilshire and Rosicky meaning youngsters Frimpong, Jenkinson and Lansbury are in line for debuts and rare starts. The key for them will be to keep Van Persie involved and not allow Liverpool to isolate him. Liverpool will play on the break with the pace of Downing and Saurez, they will also look to use Carroll's height although on early evidence, Arsenal seem to have upped their game defending set pieces. I still see Liverpool nicking a goal, and can't see Arsenal troubling Liverpool in what will be a very dull match.
Aston Villa v Blackburn
Prediction: 2-0 Aston Villa look solid in defence after adding the experience of Shay Given and despite Blackburn's owners suggesting they should be aiming for European qualification, they are many people's outside favourites for relegation. Despite the creative loss of Ashley Young and Stuart Downing, Villa retain enough quality in Darren Bent to see away Blackburn and give Alex McLeish his first win as Villa manager. Blackburn will need to invest the money from the sale of Phil Jones in more realistic targets than Raul if they are to avoid a long, hard and fruitless season.
Bolton v Man City
Prediction: 3-0 An early season top of the table clash! After Sergio Aguero introduced himself to the Premiership last week he should be in line for a start this week and I can only see Man city carrying on where they left of against Swansea. While Bolton throughly outclassed QPR last week they don't have the defence to keep out Man City whilst troubling Joe Hart at the other end.
Chelsea v West Brom
Prediction 2-1 Chelsea have thumped West Brom on their last two visits to stamford bridge, but this won't be quite as easy for them. Chelsea have laboured since last autumn due to the loss in form of players like Malouda, Essien, Drogba and Lampard whilst West Brom looked lively against Man Utd last week and would have got a point were it not for an unfortunate own goal. Chelsea are nowhere near as sold without Petr Cech in goal and I can see West Brom causing them problems especially with the pace of Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie but Chelsea will have just about enough for the win.
Everton v QPR
Prediction 3-0 QPR fans will be glad to have Tony Fernandes confirmed as their new owner, but they won't feel his impact in this match. Goodison Park is a hard enough place to visit for the Premiership's leading teams but for a team with only one top class player (Adel Tarrabat) this will prove too much. While Everton have not yet played this season, I can see them having enough creativity and power to easily win this one.
Man Utd v Tottenham
Prediction: 2-0 Despite Spurs' battering of Hearts, they will lose here just as they always do. Hopefully this game will have somewhat less controversy this year than Nani's ludicrous goal caused in last season's fixture. Spurs will be missing around 6 midfielders, while Man Utd will be at full strength. The main point of interest will be David de Gea's performance. So far he has conceded weak goals low to his right and left while looking ill at ease with crosses one of his predecessor's many strengths.
Norwich v Stoke
Prediction v 0-1 This game will show how well Stoke can cope with European competition. The regular Thursday and Sunday fixtures have caused Spurs and Liverpool problems over the last few seasons and sooner or later I think they will affect Stoke, but not quite yet. They haven't conceded a goal in their four games so far this season and I can't see Norwich breaking that while Stoke will cause them problems all game with their set pieces.
Sunderland v Newcastle
Prediction 2-1 The first game of the weekend and the first big derby of the season. Newcastle looked quite toothless in attack last week against Arsenal while Sunderland recovered from an early Liverpool onslaught to record a good point. Whilst form is never much help when predicting the result of a derby, Sunderland look to have the better, more settled squad whilst there are continuing doubts around Joey Barton and the direction Newcastle are going in. I can see an entertaining, open game with Sunderland's Seb Larsson and Assamoah Gyan proving the difference.
Swansea v Wigan
Prediction: 2-1 Wigan somehow avoided the drop again last season and typically start slowly before rallying in the spring, although it remains to be seen if they can manage that without Charles N'zogbia. Swansea thoroughly outlayed Man City for half an hour last week and the 4-0 loss was hard on them. If they can keep their heads up I think they'll record their first win of the season
Wolves v Fulham
Prediction: 2-1 Wolves' home form kept them in the Premiership last season and I expect that to continue this year. Fulham are a solid proposition at home but notoriously poor travellers. Wolves had a good win away last week and will follow that up with another win here.
