Update: West Ham have issued a denial to BBC's story on Sky Sports News West Ham United have agreed a £2 million loan fee for Liverpool and England striker Andy Carroll, according to BBC Sport. The loan move is a "view to a permanent transfer" for a further £17 million, should The Hammers avoid relegation next season and stay in the Premier League. However according to reports, Carroll does not want to leave Liverpool on a permanent basis to join West Ham. His first choice would be to stay at Liverpool and be given a chance to prove himself to his new manager but as Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers doesn't see a place for him in his side, he is resigned to exiting Anfield. Carroll would prefer a move to his hometown club Newcastle United for whom he left in January 2011 in a club record fee of £35 million, which made him subject of the highest fee recorded for any British player in history. West Ham must now agree terms with Carroll and perhaps for a season-long loan opportunity to team up with his former mentor at Newcastle - Kevin Nolan - and rebuild his confidence, might prove to be decisive.
