After proving that Manchester City are in fact beatable, Andre Villas-Boas’s Blues turn their attention to slightly easier opposition in the form of Wigan Athletic.

Team News

Wigan Athletic: Emmerson Boyce could return to Martinez€™s starting 11 at the expense of Antolin Alcaraz whose rib injury may consign him to a spectator€™s role. Chris Kirkland may be on the bench, though Ali Al-Habsi will take some dislodging, being as he is one of the few consistent performers in the Latics€™ squad. Chelsea: David Luiz is back in the team for better or worse. Other than that Villas-Boas has a pretty fit squad, apart from Michael Essien, but he must be used to not having him around.

Probable Line-ups

Wigan Athletic: Al-Habsi, Gohouri, Caldwell, Boyce, Figueroa; McCarthy, Gomez, Moses, Diame, Jones, Di Santo Chelsea: Cech, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole; Ramires, Romeu, Meireles, Sturridge, Drogba, Mata Referee: Martin Atkinson My Prediction: 3-0 to Chelsea, just because even though they are sometimes a shade of their true selves, there should be enough sheer quality in the side to comfortably dispatch the Latics. It€™s not wise to write of Roberto Martinez though.
