World Cup 2014 Draw: 5 Teams England Could Face In A Worst Case Scenario

By Nick Turner /

5. Brazil

Facing Brazil in any World Cup is going to be a challenge, as Sven Goran Eriksson's England side discovered in the Quarter-Finals of the tournament in South Korea and Japan when the Selecao knocked them out in Shizuoka. Ronaldinho's infamous cross come shot free kick beat David Seaman and Luis Felipe Scorlari's side went on to win the championship for the fifth time in their history. Facing Brazil in their own World Cup is a different kettle of fish altogether, and a worse one at that. Picture the scene, England and Brazil are drawn in the same group and are scheduled to kick off the tournament in the first game. England capitulate early on and fall to a crushing 4-0 defeat to their hosts and spend the rest of their time playing catch up in the group. Neymar and co dispatched all sides in their path at the Confederations Cup over the summer, including world and European champions Spain, who they smashed 3-0 in the Final of the competition. Imagine what they could do to an England side very much still a work in progress.
