007 Similarities Between Doctor Who And James Bond

In 1962, cinema goers were introduced to James Bond. Agent 007, man of action, world citizen and gentleman spy... In 1963, TV viewers were introduced to the mysterious Doctor. Man of action, citizen of the universe and gentleman time traveller. For many, this might be where the comparisons end, but upon closer inspection the two may just be more similar than you'd think. Especially as these series have matured, they may have grown more and more alike than one might assume. While both are quintessentially British characters and franchises, they're both held close to the collective hearts of the entire world. Both properties illicit speculation, excitement and media frenzy whenever an announcement is made and fans inevitably analyse every minute detail in a bid to better understand the characters' worlds. Indeed, the passion that the two franchises inspire in both hardcore fans and casual viewers is astronomical and both manage to capture the imaginations of even the most sceptical audiences. Both James Bond and Doctor Who recently celebrated 50 years of screen adventures and so there's no better time to spy out some of the key similarities between the two. Now pay attention, 007!
