10. Bob Odenkirk As Michael Scott

Initially, Steve Carell actually turned down the role as Michael Scott because he had signed on to another project. However his other show fell through, leaving him free to accept the role in The Office.

But before his acceptance, the creators brought Bob Odenkirk on board to play the role of Michael Scott. We even get a glimpse of his version of our favorite manager in Season 9, Episode 16 when Pam interviews for a job in Philadelphia.

Odenkirk has since become a well known actor for his character as Saul Goodman in Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad and you can see from his audition he would have been an admirable choice in place of Carell.
