Freaks and Geeks is the genius creation of Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) and helped propel the vast majority of its main cast to stardom, including James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel and Linda Cardellini. The show revolved around Lindsay Weir (Cardellini), a straight-A student who decides to join the social outcasts, making for some drama that's both hilarious and genuinely emotionally resonant. One of the most mature shows every written about the high school experience, it's a cult classic, and you know exactly what that means. The show's intelligence meant that it never reached a large audience, and given that none of the cast were established actors, it took barely a dozen episodes for NBC to lose patience and bin it, with the 3 extra episodes filmed only airing once Fox Family picked up the rights to show the programme.
