Invasion was a fantastic show that began with a hurricane which changed a small Florida town forever. Inspired by Invasion of the Body Snatchers, it appeared that the residents were slowly being taken over by some form of supernatural entity, and what the show did extremely well was to build suspense. However, some argued that the show built too slowly, and without giving many concrete answers, it did often prove as frustrating as it was enticing. What kept things interesting even through the dull patches was William Fichtner's excellent performance as Sheriff Underlay, an ambiguous character who begins as a hero and seems to slide progressively towards anti-hero and/or villain. Still, we never found out how far this would have gone as the show ended up being cancelled after dwindling ratings, a result of the show having its schedule constantly shifted around.
