10 Best Anime Fights Of All Time

10. Deku Vs. Todoroki - My Hero Academia

Choosing any one fight scene from My Hero Academia for this list, even with what little the anime has covered so far in comparison to the manga, is a herculean task, as there are a lot of stand out brawls to choose from. But in the end, You Say Run wouldn't be the meme it is without the fight between Deku and Todoroki.

It may seem an odd choice (not the last one, I assure you) considering that the fight is literally just two dudes throwing attacks at each other while staying in place. But one of the key deciding factors of what qualifies a fight for this list is both spectacle, thematic resonance, and impact on the story. All of which this fight has in spades.

Obviously the fight looks unbelievable, this is a Bones anime so that goes without saying. But in terms of themes and impact on the story, it's chock full as well. Deku, our main character, loses in the quarter finals of the tournament (something that has NEVER happened in shonen before) all to help his friend Todoroki come to terms with his past and accept the side of himself he inherited from his abusive father.

While the damage Endeavor did to his son isn't immediately undone, it is weakened, if ever so slightly, as Todoroki finally whips out the fire quirk he had been suppressing until now. Resulting in a truly stunning climax that cements this fight as one of the all time greats.
