10 Best Battlestar Galactica Moments

10. Gaius Feels "God's Presence"

Gaius Baltar is easily one of the show's best characters. He is a man known by many names. A world-renowned scientist, coward, destroyer of the twelve colonies, cult leader, psychopath, and all-around absolute jerk. Yet despite the horrendous actions he has involved himself in, he still finds people willing to believe in him.

This religious belief in Gaius Baltar reached a high point for the man when, after escaping his own execution, he is led into a storage compartment which is filled with very attractive men and women who worship Gaius Baltar as God's messenger.

Gaius, being the selfish man he is, goes along with the cultist's delusions and finds himself alone with one of his followers, Tracey Anne, who exposes herself to him and places his hands on her chest. When she asks "Do you feel God's presence?" Gaius simply responds "You know what? I think I do."

Obviously, this moment is not part of a massive space battle or a shocking revelation. Yet this tiny moment shows how vile Gaius Baltar is in manipulating people, especially women, into giving him self-satisfaction.

This moment also shows just how lonely Gaius Baltar truly is in humanity's new hierarchy as he constantly searches for any sort of human companionship, no matter how crazy the situation may be.
