10 Best Nickelodeon Live-Action Shows

By Bryan Hickman /

It's well-known that Nickelodeon has made some of the best cartoon TV shows of all time: Spongebob Squarepants, Doug, The Fairly Oddparents, and Hey Arnold! all hail from Channel Orange (maybe that's what Frank Ocean was singing about). But unlike fellow kids network Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon also had some pretty entertaining live-action TV shows. Admittedly they ran the gamut of enjoyability, the godawful iCarly became the network's most popular show and spawned spin-offs, but there will always be the incredible All That. And unlike network sitcoms that focused on children like Boy Meets World and Saved by the Bell, they rarely if ever featured "Very Special Episodes" that focused on teaching kids important life lessons through the obvious learning tool of television. Nick shows were just zany fun that operated in quintessentially sitcommy worlds. Sure, there was conflict, but it was all resolvable over the course of a quick 20 minutes. So let's take a look back at the best live-action shows Nickelodeon had to offer in an attempt to reclaim the glory of our childhoods.
