Chances are, if you're a horror fan outside of The Walking Dead, you probably attribute the 1969 Creedence Clearwater Revival song to the 1981 film An American Werewolf in London. It's a classic that's found its way into numerous other films and televisions shows over the years and has been covered time and again by other artists.

For the trailers promoting the second half premiere of the show's fourth season, AMC used the much heavier cover of the song by Mourning Ritual. With the prison being left behind, the characters scattered and the weight of Hershel's death still on fans' and characters' minds, the use of the cover provided the trailers with a potent, stage-setting moodiness that helped make the second half's promotional material stand out as some of the series' most effective.
