7. Scrubs - My Day Off

NBC

Early Scrubs was a thing of beauty. It's easy to forget just how good Scrubs was when it first started, as many people's lasting memory of the show is the confusion and disappointment they felt while watching the strange mess that was season nine.

Featuring some of Scrub's most iconic moments (like the revelation that J.D. is afraid of pennies) it's a Thanksgiving episode that isn't weighed down by the holiday. Instead, Thanksgiving is weaved throughout the episode like a fine piece of stitching, and is actually the backdrop for some fantastic character development between Turk and J.D., as J.D. refuses to let Turk operate on him. And if that's not enough, it features the hilarious scene pre-surgery in which J.D. imagines himself being cut up like a turkey.
