3. The Sopranos - He Is Risen

HBO

Though at times hilarious, The Sopranos - HBO's massively acclaimed crime drama - could often seem relentlessly bleak. Nevertheless, the show was intrinsically about family, so it makes absolute sense that one of its episodes should feature Thanksgiving.

He Is Risen - the eighth episode of the third season - originally aired on Easter Sunday in April 2001. The episode sees the family's internal animosity reach fever pitch as Thanksgiving closes in. Not only do we see Tony and his cronies discussing Thanksgiving in a strip club, we even see turkeys being smuggled from the back of a van like some sort of festive narcotic. It features all your typical Sopranos tropes slightly adjusted to accommodate for the holiday, and is a great example of the show's dark humour.
