3. How To Get Away With Murder (ABC, Thursdays 10/9c)
Let's talk about the tremendous talented cast that How to Get Away with Murder claims. You've got Viola Davis, a two-time Oscar nominee who just gets better and better as the years go by. There's also a troupe of up-and-coming young actors in varying levels of establishing a name for themselves, including Harry Potter's Alfie Enoch, Matt McGorry, Jack Falahee, Katie Findlay, and Aja Naomi King. This show revolves around a demanding criminal defense professor and her class of brilliant law students who get mixed up in a murder plot. What we like about it is that it uses elements of the procedural legal drama that has always been popular on television, while still having a little something extra that sets itself apart. It's nice to see a show that has not only a compelling female lead who isn't overpowered by her romantic entanglements, but also a refreshingly diverse group of supporting characters.
