5. Fox Announces Release Dates For Wolverine 3 and Fantastic Four 2

Remember the days when studios would announce sequels after the first movie came out? Well, that apparently isn't the world we live in anymore, because it seems like all the major studios are announcing their upcoming release dates years in advance. Marvel Studios is notorious for this, mapping out entire phases of their cinematic universe without telling us what films accompany the release date. Well, now it looks like Fox is following their lead, because they've set release dates for films all the way into 2018. They already have the Days of Future Past sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse, set for 2016, and will follow that up with the third solo Wolverine movie on March 3, 2017. They've also announced that the sequel to their upcoming Fantastic Four reboot (which hasn't even started filming or announced its entire cast) will land on July 14, 2017. But wait, that's not all! They also have an "Untitled Fox/Marvel Movie" slated for July 13, 2018. Many fans immediately thought this might be that Avengers/X-Men crossover we've all been waiting for, but realistically that's not going to happen anytime soon. Instead, I'd expect it to the long-rumored X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover film, unless it's one of the other X-Men movies they have in development. We know that X-Force is in the works, and that Deadpool has been ready for quite some time now. There's a chance that either of those films could take that 2018 spot. My guess is Fox doesn't even know what they'll do with that date yet, and are merely claiming it so that DC and Marvel are less tempted to swoop in and claim it first.
