Danny Strong played the geeky Sunnydale high school student (and later, a well-meaning sometimes super-villain) Jonathan for six seasons on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (he did not appear in any of the first season episodes, but was in the unaired pilot). Originally having auditioned for the role of Xander, while he didn't land the part, Joss Whedon and the folks at Mutant Enemy liked him enough to keep him around in a smaller role. These days, Strong is double fisting Emmy awards and writing the final Hunger Games movies. See, great things doesn't always have to mean on-screen success. While he did go on to a recurring role on Gilmore Girls after Buffy, Strong has had much more success behind the scenes. He wrote screenplays for both Mockingjay movies, and is co-creator of the Fox show Empire. His dual Emmy wins, meanwhile, came from the HBO film Game Change, which picked up Outstanding Miniseries or Movie, and Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries or Movie awards. You go, Jonathan!
