There's something of a golden age of animation taking place right now. While Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon continue to cater to the kids (the traditional audience for cartoons), Adult Swim, Comedy Central and Netflix are producing brilliant animated content for the older crowd. With the popularity of shows like BoJack Horseman and Archer, many people in their 20s and 30s are getting back into the genre that they loved as children. So it makes sense that some classic cartoons are getting rebooted. Danger Mouse and the Care Bears are getting brand new seasons. The Ducktales crew are returning to our screens. Even The Magic School Bus which wants kids to learn while they watch (ew), is getting a new outing. The following, much-loved animated shows deserve the same treatment. Some of them were ahead of their time to begin with, and some would need quite an overhaul to appeal to a modern audience. But all of them would be welcomed by the Gen X and Y parents looking for something to watch with their kids (or the stoners of the same generation looking for something to watch alone).
