10 Crazy Breaking Bad Fan Theories That Completely Change The Show

2. Walt Adopts Traits From His Victims

The Theory: Whether people want to admit it or not, Walter White was a mass murderer. Starting with Crazy 8, and ending with Todd's group, Walt left a path of death and destruction in his wake. Of those he killed, it has been postulated that he took on traits of theirs either intentionally or subconsciously. There is some evidence of this such as cutting the crust off of his sandwich after killing Crazy 8. He also began driving a Volvo post Fring, and only wanted ice in his whiskey after killing Mike. Was It Possible: Yes, at least partly. Vince Gilligan admitted that some of the nods to deceased characters were intentional and that some were not. He mentions that Walt putting a towel down to throw up (like Gus did after poisoning the cartel) was a tribute to Gus, but that there was no way Walt would have seen him do that. Some of the unintentional traits taken over, may have been subconscious guilt that Walt carried for murdering his victims. Whether they were intentional or not, these subtle winks at former victims help shape Walt throughout his run on the series.
