This is a television show (on Showtime, no less) about one of the most powerful religious families in all of Italy during the Renaissance, so on some level, you have to be expecting a certain amount of perverse sexual practice. But we can't ignore the fact that this sibling pair is entirely too comfortable with one another -- the longing looks, the caresses, the whole nine yards. It's just a little much for two people who are married to others and, you know, related. Whenever these two share the screen together, there's sexual tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. Their chemistry is magnetic, and they would probably be a really well-loved couple if it weren't for that pesky incest thing. And to be fair, they do seem to bring out goodness in one another. Cesare's devotion to Lucrezia is one of his best qualities. It's just a shame they have so much of the same DNA. Funny old thing, life.
