10 DC Characters Who Deserve Their Own Show
Who wouldn't want to see a Batman Detective show?
So far the DCEU has done little more than disappoint the legions of fans who have waited their entire lives to see the Justice League on the big screen.
But it’s not all bad news for DC’s characters: The CW keeps making really popular TV shows that do their subject material justice, with the likes of The Flash, Supergirl, Green Arrow and The Legends of Tomorrow excelling. And while it's a sad fact that none of those characters will ever make it to the big screen, the unforeseen benefit of that is that the two screen universes can never mesh together. And of course, that in turn means that DC and The should be able to make shows starring characters that have already appeared on the big screen.
So yes, we can simultaneously have Ben Affleck as our big screen Batman and then have someone else with an equally chiselled chin be our TV Batman. We can have Grant Gustin as our TV Flash while Ezra Miller plays our big screen Flash as is the case with the upcoming Justice League film.
With that in mind let’s take a look at 10 DC characters, some you'll know from the films and some you won't, that deserve their own TV series.
10. Deadshot
The man who never misses needs the chance to prove it with a 13 week episodic run. As already established, Will Smith can still carry on playing the big screen Deadshot while someone like Michael Rowe, who played Deadshot in Arrow, plays him on TV.
Deadshot’s 9-to-5 suits episodic telling more than an 130 minute film as each week would have him assassinate or attempt to assassinate a different minor villain from the DC canon. This could leave him open to spin off into other characters as the series progressed or even have other characters spin into his series.
And what about his big bad being the Suicide Squad hunting him down? Comic book fans love their connected universes so why not give the people what they want on the small screen?
